5 Star Review for Nephilim The Remnants
Sarah Bailey, a professional book reviewer, just reviewed my book, Nephilim The Remnants on her blog: Growing For Christ. Although Sarah lives in Ohio, we have never met. She contacted me thru a mutual friend and although she has given the book an incredible review it is unbiased and her opinion. We have never even met in person, only spoke via e-mail thru this process.
Here is an excerpt of Sarah Bailey’s review and opinion of Nephilim The Remnants:
“When I think of a local author I think of someone with mediocre writing skills – how wrong I’ve been! This book is awesome and I really enjoyed a bigger look on one’s take of the Nephilim in the Bible. ”

XENIA DAILY GAZETTE – Front Page Article Wednesday, May 16, 2012
Xenia – English Romantic poet William Wordsworth once said, “Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.”
Xenia resident David A. Henderson followed Wordsworth’s advice, embarking on a 10-year writing journey that culminated in the publishing of his first book, Nephilim the Remnants, in March. The book explores the topics of faith, betrayal and sacrifice through the genre of fantasy. A former Xenia Daily Gazette paperboy, Henderson was raised on literary works about imaginary worlds and realms where supernatural beings and forces are common.
“Fantasy has been my favorite genre since I was young,” said Henderson. “I grew up with it.”
The book also turns to the antediluvian period of history spoken of in the Bible as a source of inspiration. Readers of Nephilim the Remnants are introduce to the Nephilim, a peculiar race spoken of in the Biblical books of Genesis and Numbers. The book’s protagonist, a heroic knight, and antagonist, the evil Count Vladimir, are members of this strange, antediluvian race. The Nephilim have been a source of fascination for Henderson since he was young. The Xenia resident’s research on the topic has included reading the Bible, the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Book of Enoch, an ancient Jewish religious work ascribed to the great-grandfather of Moses. As Henderson’s research progressed, a story dealing with the age-old theme of the battle between good and evil began to emerge in his mind.
“I first came across these beings in Genesis,” said Henderson. “They’ve always intrigued me. I researched several books on them. It started out as a personal interest for me and kind of evolved into a story.”
Originally, Nephilim the Remnants started as a movie script. The script’s cast included illustrations and pictures of characters Henderson drew during his childhood. During a period of 10 years, the ideas and concepts continued to accumulate in Henderson’s imagination and find there way into the pages of his script. Family, friends and acquaintances started urging him to transform the script into a literary work.
Once a manuscript was put together, Henderson began shopping for a publisher. He came across Xulon Press and a deal was reached. So far, says Henderson, the book’s release has been met with a good reception. “I’ve had very positive feedback,” said Henderson. “I’ve had several people tell me they’ve read it all in one day. I’ve also had several people tell me they’re waiting for a movie. It’s very encouraging.”

Nephilim the Remnants a story of faith, betrayal, and sacrifice
Henderson pens title to demonstrate the light in the darkness
MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of David A. Henderson’s new book, Nephilim the Remnants ($15.99, paperback, 978-1-61996-525-6; $7.99, e-book, 978-1-61996-527-0) readers will discover a fictional land set in medieval times. The main characters are descendents of the mighty Nephilim from biblical times. In Genesis 6:4 it says,“The nephilim were on the earth in those days– and also afterwards. …They were the heroes of old men of reknown.” These supernatural beings were believed to be half man and half fallen angel. The author’s mission is that the reader will receive a sense of hope even in the midst of darkness.
“The single most important thing about this book is– the experience,” states the author. “Readers will be thoroughly entertained by the amount of action, adventure, illustrations, plot twists, and sheer creativity in this book. The reader will feel as though they are walking along side the Nephilim characters in the story. And they will experience and discover truths in and about themselves that will take them beyond the book itself and into their own personal lives– and even into eternity as God’s plan of redemption & salvation is clearly interwoven through-out the plot of the story.
Nephilim the Remnants is written, illustrated, and designed by David A. Henderson. It is the first of several more books to come based on the Nephilim characters. David has a degree as a graphic artist. He loves the creative arts as well as studying truths found in the Bible.
